Partick Housing Association (PHA) is pleased to announce the completion of its latest development of 60 new affordable homes at Mansfield Gate in Partick.
Partick HA Chief Executive, Stewart MacKenzie said: “We’re delighted to complete these new affordable flats in the heart of Partick, and welcome tenants to their wonderful new homes.”
These new homes sit on the site of the former St Peters School on Chancellor Street, Dowanhill Street and White Street. There are 31 flats for social rent, 21 for mid-market rent and 8 for supported accommodation managed by SAMH.
The project was financed by Partick Housing Association, together with grant funding from Glasgow City Council. It was delayed because of the Coronavirus pandemic and the original contractor going into administration. But we are now delighted to be welcoming tenants to their new homes.
One new resident of Mansfield Gate said, “We were so happy to be offered one of the new flats. They’ve been built to a high standard and feel really spacious and bright inside. It’s just perfect for our first family home together.”
Alan Howie, PHA Chair added: “It’s great to have successfully completed this project and provide these affordable new homes. Many thanks to the Council, our partners and the local community for their continuing support. At Partick Housing Association, we’re committed to providing more quality affordable homes to meet local housing needs across the West End.”
Councillor Kenny McLean, City Convener for Housing, Development, Built Heritage and Land Use at Glasgow City Council, said: “The completion of this development of new and high-quality affordable homes in Partick is very welcome, and of course these flats help meet the need for such housing in this part of Glasgow. We were pleased to have supported this development, and to work with our partners to bring more new homes to Glasgow.”
